Alfredo M. Vidal, President
Alfredo M. Vidal, President has succeeded in both the private and public sectors by showing that he can craft valuable solutions to complex issues.
Alfredo received a Bachelors degree from Syracuse University in International Relations and Spanish Language, Literature and Culture. He also received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.
He began his career in government early on as an Ombudsman for the Secretary of State. During his tenure, he assisted in reorganizing the office to become more efficient and responsive to each constituents needs. Later, he became the Director of Finance for the Division of Human Rights. At the Division he reorganized the finance unit and instituted an internal budget process that is still in place today. Alfredo has served as Assistant Director of Intergovernmental and Legislative Affairs for Governor Cuomo. Finally, he has served as Senior Internal Auditor for the Department of Transportation. Here, he was responsible for saving the agency thousands of dollars and reorganizing different divisions within the agency. After years in government, Alfredo was afforded an opportunity to work in the private sector, he became an Associate for Weinraub and Ostroff, LLC. At this firm, he managed differing accounts, including but not limited to: Casa PROMESA, Con Edison, Care Plus Health Plan and Court TV. After this, he became a Senior Associate with Ostroff Associates, LLC. At this firm, he managed accounts that included: The Dreyfus Corporation, Empire State Restaurant and Tavern Association, and the New York Public Library. Finally, in 2001, he partnered with two former senior Cuomo administration officials to form Brown, Vidal and Weinraub, LLC.
At this firm, Alfredo worked on issues related to health care, casino gambling, small business development and labor. During his work in the private sector, he also managed political campaigns across the state.
Alfredo is also a board member of Albany County Opportunity, Inc. a community action agency serving Albany County and a board member of Voto Latino, dedicated to empowering the Latino Community to use technology to encourage voting.
Mary Briwa, Associate
Before starting at The Vidal Group, Mary worked for the Schoharie County Planning and Development Agency as a Planner Assistant. There, she worked with local, county and state officials on various economic projects. She served as a liaison between the county and the towns while attending town board and planning board meetings. She organized the project to place town subdivision regulations, zoning laws and comprehensive plans on the internet for public access; a venture that was part of the 2008 Schoharie County Economic Summit.
At The Vidal Group, Mary focuses on client services, bill tracking and coalition building. She has worked on various campaigns in New York State and received a Bachelor's Degree from the College of Saint Rose in History and Political Science. She also studied at Regent's College in London and at Bond University in Gold Coast, Australia.
